UPS Store - Price gouging
Their price: $109 (ground) Online UPS price $47 (ground) The box they used: 3 TIMES larger than necessary to increase the cost. The employee: Unwilling to look me in the eyes and give me an explanation as to their pricing policy.
His attitude: I was being unreasonable and wasting his time for being concerned about being overcharged. The manager: Avoiding me at all costs, letting the cashier handle everything. My analysis: Must be a franchise, not related to the actual company, who, I believe, is trustworthy and hard working. Further analysis: I expected a markup, but not to this degree.
I was shipping on behalf of a client, who would have been outraged at the cost. What I did: Took my box home and pre-paid online.
Reason of review: Pricing issue.
Monetary Loss: $35.
UPS Store Cons: Pricing, Customer service.

From my experience, all I can say is... when you look up the price online.
You're simply putting the weight and dimensions of your package just as is. If you are to put it in another box, you'll have to take into consideration the change of the dimensions and the weight of the box.
Thus, you get a different, increased price. I think that's simple to understand.
