Oh yea you post this s.hit about civil rights blah blah blah... Then when people disagree with you, it's case closed....

Again thnx for all ur comments my belief when u enter any store employees should be glad to have the business and help w out why do client ever walk in attitude !

this store have gotten 7 bad reviews already am not alone !

Tired of keeping quite, smiling, pretending is fine when it is not

thnx again for comments i would not be using this store till Owner sees to this matter -- taking to Dep of Civil Rights at this point : they got interested on this issue !! Glad they did

natalya Dbo

Actually I left was very upset but not rude not in my nature but shipped my boxes there anyways since my clients were waiting for it and i did not had the time to go to another store

i don't think the guy was correct Im taking this matter it to the Owner of the store since store is privately own

simple matter should be solved w out involved of the police thnx for ur comment let Owner decide from here thnx

Guest

Sounds like you were extremely rude. I would have asked you to leave too.

And the fact that he had to call the police tells me you were refusing to leave. According to manta.com, this store is owned by a Rita Cheng.

But that record could be outdated. BTW: it 725 River, not 752.

Otherwise thnx for your time As already posted this issue will be taking w the Store Owner -- Associate behavior towards my wife was improper and wrong and already addressed to UPS headquarter and legal authorities including our own lawyer. M thnx again

We know who the Owner of the Store is at this point it is actually stated on their website v easy to find. Farther, thnx for all comments, yet comments of her been rude or not rude re wrong because none of u were present unless some of u happen to be the second associate who was there at that time.

Thnx for ur input, yet judging situation with out been present is very difficult. . Story goes he said she said unless there were cameras we won't be able to see a clear picture. My wife is a high professional who demands professional services.

She' ve rights to do so as any other person walking to that store and if those services are not meeting at least basic standards then any complaint as such must be addressed w the Owner of the Store. Associate's must act professionally handling matters calmly professionally not relying on their moods and their own like/ dislike.

That would be totally wrong since it screams clear discrimination and violation of her civil rights. Again thnx.

Guest

You sound like a demanding seven year old brat, telling him to do his job correctly and faster when it was you who messed up. Next time get help from an adult so you sent the box to the correct country.

You have no right blaming them for your mistake. If someone tells you how to do your job you would be upset as well(assuming you are not really seven years old and actually have a job). He gets paid to do his job, not take abused from unsupervised children such as yourself. The business hours are usually during school hours.

Why were you not in school?

Most likely you made the mistake judging from your poor spelling and grammar. Your rights were not violated, he has the right to refuse service to a demanding seven year old brat such as yourself.

Been an immigrant have to tell u that ur comment about the spelling was way to … this story could ve happen to anyone including yourself. As of today March 20/14 Cilvil Rights Department of NJ toke this complaint regardless of spelling or misspellings and will be contacting the Owner of this Store.

This store associate clearly mishandle the matter on top of that lied to my wife and police that he is a Store Manager when their website have no such indication. So far as we learn today this guy G have a sensitive personality those type's could not handle any time pressure freaking out of funny situations getting confused blaming other for their faults be that w costumer or just a family member. Suggestion : getting a different job for instance @ mUsical store since music calms the nerves.

UPS headquarters was not happy hearing this story; they toke our complaint and will be following up with the Store Owner They also said that they need to make sure that each of their stores functioning correctly serving their clients on prompt time manners. They're concerned since this store happen to be Edgewater prime location Thnx

Overcharged and refused refund or reciept

On 5/14/2014, I went to the UPS at1400 VETERANS MEMORIAL HWY SE STE 134 MABLETON, GA 30126, to have copies made from a folder on a usb drive. It seemed simple enough, I called the store to price the cost. I was told ten cents a copy. I had 26 copies to be printed. The bumbling associate had difficulty using the computer and printing the documents, then charged me for 40+, documents. I told the associate right away that the additional documents were for VBS scripting and mine were loan docs. The associate said OK, then charged me for the additional documents. The associate kept my receipt so I could not verify the number of prints printed, denied that there were extra prints, then refused to refund my difference, later claiming that it was only sixty cents and hung up on me. I called back and got no answer.

Horrible customer service. Price quote in am different prince in pm when brought box back to ship. Wouldn't help just said they will have to be retrained. I went to competitor and got better price and service without saying anything of my problem. This store is not the only option! Thank goodness.

Ups Store - Stamps Overcharge Review from Atlanta, Georgia

How in the heck are they allowed to OVER charge for stamps! I'm so irritated!

Seriously, a $7.00 upcharge for a roll of stamps? That's what I got stuck with today.

Wasn't paying attention when they rang them up. Learned a lesson today. Never, ever go to the UPS Store!!!! They post a sign in the window saying they are a "contract post office" but turns out they are NOT.

Contract post offices are not allowed to upcharge stamps.

Apparently there aren't any in Scottsdale, AZ!

Oh well, live and learn!

Guest

Boohoo I could have bought my stamps (chips, gas, booze, guns, ammo, popcicles, clothes, diapers...) someplace cheaper.

Dim bulb education 101...

Stamps are a product. People selling said product can charge what they wish.

All stores sell products or services. Its up to the consumer to decide whether the price for the item being offered is one they wish to pay.

There endeth the lesson.

Guest

its a convenience charge, so u dont have to wait in line at the post office. if ur so concerned about the extra dollar, drive your butt over to the p.o. and stand in line for 20mins..it sucks that chips are more expensive at the gas station then the supermarket....oh wait, maybe because it's more convenient.

Won't give drop off receipts

The UPS Store in Ringwood NJ is run by a grouch who almost refuses to give receipts. I had previously dropped a return to Amazon there and they never received it so I began to ask for receipts for subsequent drop offs which he always has a reason that he cannot give.

He will say his cash register is closed for the day (I don't know what the cash register has to do with a reciept) or that his "system is down" or whatever the daily excuse is. I have never asked for a handwritten receipt which is what I should do when I get these excuses but I would rather not do business with someone like him.

I work for a UPS Store and we are getting ready to stop printing drop-off receipts. It sounds horrible, but I can't wait!

Why should we have to print out a receipt for something we are not getting paid for and are not taking any responsibility for. We already lose money in materials having to tape up 85% of the prepaid boxes, and as soon as something goes wrong with the shipment, the customer immediately calls us to complain because they have a receipt from my location. The purpose of accepting drop-offs was to be a convenience so people wouldn't have to drive downtown or pay for a pickup. Once again, people take advantage of the system and demand more from stores that aren't even profiting from the prepaid labels.

It's simple if u want a receipt, schedule a pickup or go to the actual UPS customer care center. Stop bothering us and write down your tracking #!!!

Yes, we get paid a small amount - he's exaggerating because it's close to nothing. Despite massive inflation across the last 10 years and UPS's prices nearly doubling, compensation has only gone up 15 cents.

Store closes. UPS leaves box customers hanging

I had my business mailbox at the local UPS Store. At the height of the recession, the store suddenly closed down. Apparently the owner of this franchise store abruptly shut down his business. As a result, I was not able to get to the mail at my box. More, the US Post Office could not deliver at that location, so my mail began to pile up at the Post Office. The Post Office would not allow me to put in an address forward as the address was a UPS Store box. I never understood this. I called the UPS Store corporate office and asked that they take possession of the mail and distribute it to the intended recipients. UPS refused to do this and insisted I must notify all my senders and give them a new address. They would not sort the current mail piling up nor would they route any future mail even in the short-run. Though I am not sure why the Post Office would not forward the mail, UPS let us all down by refusing to carry on (even in the shortrun) the operations of that failed UPS Store location and give its customers a chance to react. My advice to anyone using the UPS Store is to determine the current policy should your UPS Store location go under. Unless things have changed, you will not be able to forward your mail nor will UPS step in and provide needed assistance. Your mail will all be sent back to the sender without a forward address. UPS will provide no assistance.

Yeah, pretty much that sucks. This is not just a problem with The UPS Stores since any mailbox business that isn't the post office can close for business.

For what ever reason yours was with out warning. The other side of it is that the post office won't let people forward their address from a business address which The UPS Store was a business address. The post office has some blame in this as well. I hear this complaint a lot when my customers try to do this as well.

The solution is to yes, contact who your expecting mail from and have your address changed. I wish you luck

Rude employee cost me time & money

I wanted to return an eBay purchase. I sent it back to the return address given on the original shipping label. It turned out that the return address was that of the UPS Store it had been shipped from. When it arrived, the operator called me. She said they could hold it if the seller agreed to pay a fee for pickup. I asked them to hold it while I contacted the seller, but they sent it back to me within hours. The seller turned up soon after, but the package was gone. The original shipping label listed two addresses. When the package came back to me, I naturally shipped it to the second one. But it was the same UPS store. She called me again, and I asked her to ship it to the seller. I said I was willing to pay for it, but I thought they should because the mixup was their fault. The operator became very angry and refused to hold the package or ship it, either one. The seller is a frequent customer and the package originated at their store; I feel that they had an obligation to facilitate the return. Now I have to pay a *third* time to send the same package back to the same person. This wouldn't have happened IF: The UPS store hadn't used their own address as the return address They hadn't listed two versions of their own address They'd held it just a little while longer the first time They'd held the package or shipped it the second time A little customer service wouldn't have cost them anything; but the lack DID cost me money.

Lets clear some stuff up,

Undroid seems to be a pleasent fellow so....

1)The original shipping label: on every domestic shipping label generated by the UPS Store via ISHIP the originating location is always going to be the sending UPS Store location. International shipping labels puts the customers address though, don't ask me why.

There is no way that there is 2 different address for that UPS Store....there's something wrong here.

2)The receiving UPS Store has no way to look up the original "sellers" information to contact them unless a phone number was provided. And the store is not obligated to hold that package for anytime unless that customer was a mailbox holder that is. Nearly all UPS Stores charge for receiving packages for people that are not mailbox holders...some UPS Stores outright refuse any packages that is not for mailbox customers due to liabilities.

3) If you didn't open the package and RTS the box back, then yes the original UPS Store would have to deal with the problem but in this case it seems that you opened the package and shipped it via UPS Store from the Seattle area.

For future refrence, you could of called the Seattle UPS Store to do a delivery intercept or an address correction...

since they were in control of the shipment going back.

The address correction is free, I don't remember the cost of delivery intercept. Hate to say this but most of this could of been avoided by talking to original seller for a return address :)

Agreed, I should have verified it. I made a mistake, no argument there.

But this review isn't about me, it's about the store owner's reaction.

She could have seen my mistake as a business opportunity. Instead, she chose to be extremely rude and got a snarky review on Pissed Consumer. (Alongside her other internet reviews, most of which likewise mention this person's lousy attitude)

My local UPS store has my name & phone on file. In this case, the bwitch on the other end *did* look up the seller; she told me so.

She could have called him, I couldn't - all I had was an email address. There was no way I could tip him off in the two-hour time window she gave me. As I mentioned earlier, he *did* show up for the package - so she not only cost me money, but she did the same to a regular customer!

I talked to my local store about this, they said that UPS gives them no such deadline, they can and will hold a package for pickup.

They're more than happy to help straighten something out, even if there isn't a profit involved.

They get good reviews and repeat customers.

The bwitch gets reviews that say, "I'm never going back"

Hi Undroid,

Did the Seattle UPS Store mention address correction/ delivery intercept when this was happening? If they didn't, they aren't doing their jobs very well or are too lazy to make the call :P Hopefully this isn't the case.

It is absolutely true that UPS does not really give a deadline on RTS packages.

I've seen people return unopened RTS packages 5months after it was delivered. That's partially because a lot of accounts get charged for RTS shipments. Bigger companies don't however. Depends on the contract negotiated.

The liability I was alluding to was the fact the store have to account for a package in their store that they otherwise wouldnt have to.

I'm not saying that the unfriendly owner should of not tried harder but ..... there always is more information to consider.

Howard H Tvl
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-782922

> Did the Seattle UPS Store mention address correction?

My local folks didn't know what was going on at the time & I didn't know I could do that. Now I do; thank you, Mr.

dinner. ;-)

(But I wonder whether the bwitch knew that...)

I do understand the liability aspect, it's a perfectly valid concern. You take a risk when you run any business.

With shippers it's the responsibility for other people's property; a restaurant risks giving their customers E. Coli; and a politician takes the risk of being hung by his constituents.

Guest

Undroid- I like your comments! And you are right, you have to be polite no matter what.

Even if the customer is wrong (I don't think you were but I'll happily take a snarky comment!). If you deal with a problem politely, the customer leaves happy and comes back happy!

Thank you, QueenB. I got my business savvy from my mother.

She ran her own highly successful business for over 25 years.

She liked to say, "It takes ten happy customers to gain one new customer, but it only takes one unhappy customer to lose ten."

Thanks to the internet, we can multiply that by a thousand. That's *very* good for the good business people, and for the others ...?

Guest

You should not take pre-paid 50 pound packages to a UPS store. Why dont you call for a pickup you cheap ****.

Many owners are flooded with up to 100 drop offs per day and the last thing they need is you and your 50 pound pre-paids. So fccckkk offf.

uhhh ... Einstein?

I find it helps just a whole lot to READ a review BEFORE I comment on it.

You might consider the same approach rather than embarrassing yourself again.

FYI:

1) This was a FIVE pound package

2) It was NOT prepaid

3) I dropped it off in Seattle, NOT NJ

4) If the owner doesn't like the terms of the contract, he doesn't have to sign it. fffffollow yyyyyyyour ooooown aaaaaadvice.

Wow, you are absolutely ***. They made no mistake.

You said they weren't going to pay, they returned it. You should have transferred the money to pick up the package from your account to the sellers! (via PayPal) you made the mistake of that.

We (as the UPS Store--not this store, another store) are the shipper, not our customer, so we are the return address. If you are being rude to them, they are going to be rude to you.

Howard H Tvl
reply icon Replying to comment of Miklos Miq

I gotta give you the same advice as I did to Einstein. READ the review BEFORE commenting.

I never said the seller wasn't going to pay.

He even went down to the store to pick up the package. If they were in that much of a hurry, they could have contacted the seller themselves. He's a regular customer: an eBay seller who uses them for all his business.

I often use my local UPS Store - my labels say "Ship From: [Undroid]" and "Shipped Through: [UPS Store]" In fact, they'll refuse to send one with their own address as the return address.

I assumed the NJ store operated in the same manner.

I was very polite the first couple of times I spoke with this person, even though she was quite rude. The third time, I was angry because she had already cost me time and money. Even then, I was still polite. She got all huffy and refused to provide the service she's in business to provide.

That reaction cost me even more time and money. Only then did I get impolite, *VERY* impolite and I do not apologize for that in the least.

Some more advice from someone who's run his own business: if you've got an unhappy customer, that's the WORST time to be short tempered yourself. If you are patient and kind, you'll have a loyal customer for life.

If not - you'll get reviews like this one on Pissed Consumer. It's your choice.

$60 package to Canada cost me well over $100.00 because of employee error

This is a specific store # 5692. The UPS Store 2009 W Broadway Ave. Forest Lake, MN 55025. (651) 464-****. I would give them a negative 5 if I could. I sent a package worth $60 to Canada and because his employee put $60 X 4 the whole thing cost me well over $100.00. When I called to inquire his employee admitted what he did but the owner was rude and refused to a thing about it. Be careful what you mail with them! No way to keep or get a customer and because of that store I never use UPS anymore, even if they are the cheapest.

So you intentionally will go somewhere else, even if it's more expensive because a previous package cost you extra? That's some good logic.

Look, you had to sign the customs forms, they had the values listed, why didn't you catch the error?

Not saying it's your fault, but you obviously overlooked it and bare at least some of the fault.

Coupled with paying more to go elsewhere makes me think you are a petty and ignorant person, of course I'm just going by what you've typed so I'm probably right.

Failed to sent package back to sender after 3 weeks and wanted to charge me $10

UPS Store - Failed to sent package back to sender after 3 weeks and wanted to charge me $10

300 E. Oakland Park Blvd.

UPS store: I had a box at this location for 6 months while I was looking for a new home in Fort Lauderdale. I closed the account and had my mail forwarded for the first 2 months to assure everyone had my change of address. After I bought my house and moved I changed my address 4 months ago. A package was sent to the UPS store stated above addressed to myself via USPS.

Knowing full well that I had moved and no longer had a Box at this location when I walked in today 12/23 they had it sitting right behind the counter waiting for me. They told me I could not pick it up unless I paid them a $10.00 fee. I told the woman absolutely not and asked her why she didn't send it back since she knew full well that I didn't receive my mail there anymore. She had no response but to say it is the company policy to charge $10 for packages that are delivered to the shop.

I would have had the package already if they would have done the right thing and returned to sender. Shameful practice and I will not be using the UPS store or UPS service for my personal or business uses and will encourage others to do the same.

My tree is short a few presents and apologies to those who will go without this year. Happy Holidays and don't forget to use USPS and FedEx.

If they did a return to sender on the box, you would have had to pay for shipping on the box a second time. Most likely it would have then been late for Christmas.

Perhaps they were to do the right thing by you. You should also read your mailbox contract regarding forwarding mail / packages. This is your fault not theirs.

Merry Christmas. The post office needs your biz.

Miklos Miq

It's pretty simple to see what happened there. They might have forgotten you were a former box holder and assumed you were a "Hold for Pick-Up" customer.

That's where you send a package there and pick it up for a fee. In their case, a $10 fee. If you are too cheap to spend $10 for several Christmas presents, your loss.

Tuff. It's not their fault you gave the company the wrong address, it's yours.

Cheating at UPS store

Fraud people who work here, right from manager to the cashier. These fellows will rip you if you are in a hurry and missed to look at details. I took around 250 copies and these fellows charged me for 400 copies. The copy machine broke down multiple times while copying. While I have no control over why the paper jams occurs, these fellows do not have any regards to the customers. They take their own sweet time to attend to your issue. Never will go to a UPS store, don't know how these folks do business. they will get into trouble one day.

If this was a double sided print then they gave you a deal for only 400 since it should of been 500. Also if you have a complaint about an individual store then please sight the location you have a problem with.

The UPS Store is a franchise and is operated individually. Your problem is with those people, not the name of the store.

Miklos Miq

Like the other person posted, more than likely they were double-sided. Each side is a 1-copy. There is a magical thing called a copy counter, it counts how many copies you make, the store employees don't pick a random number out of the sky!!!

Guest

Why on earth would you pay for 400 copies when you only made 250, unless you don't know how many copies you made or they were double sided.

UPS Store at Central & Indian School in Phoenix

I've rented a box at this store for over 2 years. I'm the only one who's ever received mail at my rented mailbox, yet for the entire time I've been a customer there, I'm constantly getting mail put in my box for the previous box customer. This means I have to constantly wait in line for the counter person so I can tell them that "this isn't me". BUT THEY NEVER *** LISTEN! They even had a note on my mailbox instructing employees to only put MY mail in this box, yet they still ignored it. One reason I like renting mailboxes is the personal service, but this UPS Store never--not once--has ever delivered that for me. I'm just another number to them. I just tried to inquire about having my mail forwarded since I'm now living in California and THEY WERE VERY RUDE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS UPS STORE AT ALL.

I work at a UPS store, and am in charge of the mailboxes there. At our specific store, there are over 200 active mailboxes at any given time.

That is a LOT of boxes to keep track of, especially when you factor in that several boxes have more than one person receiving mail there and their various businesses. Now, I can understand your frustration at continually receiving mail that is not yours, but please keep a few things in mind.

1)To start, yes, there is the person who had the box before you, as well as the person before them, etc. Those are relatively easy to keep track of, but if you don't receive mail very often, employees are unlikely to remember anything about your box specifically. That, however, is just the tip of the iceberg.

2)We also have to routinely deal with boxholders having mail and packages addressed to alternate names than the ones on the box. This is not to say that there is more than one person on the box, just that a single person may be receiving packages under anywhere from 2-4 names.

3)Beyond that, there is no guarantee that the person sending you things is going to have correctly labeled your mail. Both mail and packages often have the wrong name on it and/or the wrong number. So, when we see something which has the correct number, but the wrong name, we tend to put that mail in that number's box.

There is one more thing for you to consider too; as inconvenient as it may be to be getting mail in your box that isn't yours, it is far better than not receiving mail that is in fact yours.

If they decided to only put mail in your box that perfectly matched your name and box number, you would almost certainly be missing out on some mail that actually way for you.
